SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
2019-2020 Season
High School
Varsity Football: Varsity Football returned to campus this year, and it was an exciting season of growth and success! The Eagles finished with a 4-5 overall record, a 4-3 Victory League record, which put them in third place and allowed them to qualify for the CIF playoffs. Season highlights included nail biting victories over CSDR and Desert Chapel, and a string of four consecutive victories that propelled the Eagles into the playoff picture. The Eagles graduate six seniors from this team and are already looking forward to getting ready for the 2020 season.
Varsity Volleyball: Varsity Volleyball capped off a 23-8 overall record this fall with a 9-1 league record and an Arrowhead League Title! Highlights this fall were a second-place finish at the Liberty Christian Tournament and a 3-0 victory on Senior Night against La Sierra Academy to wrap up the league title. The Eagles fell in the first round of the CIF playoffs to eventual semifinalist, St. Bernard, to wrap up their season. Four seniors played their final matches for the Eagles, and we thank them for their dedication to the program.
JV Volleyball: The JV Volleyball team completed a very successful fall season by winning a share of the Arrowhead League Championship with La Sierra Academy! The Eagles marched to a 13-1 overall record, finishing 7-1 in league. Highlights from the season include starting the season with eight consecutive wins, winning the Desert Classic Volleyball tournament in October, and coming in second place in the Gabrielino tournament to end the season!
Varsity Cross Country: The Varsity Cross Country teams experienced a record-breaking season with BOTH boys and girls teams winning league titles this fall! Personal bests were set throughout the season, and the team filled up with nearly 20 participants on the roster. The season was capped with a great showing at the CIF Prelims. The future is bright for Cross Country as only seven seniors graduate from the combined roster.
Junior High
Flag Football: The Junior High Football team experienced a season of growth and development this fall as nearly 75% of the roster was made up of 6th grade students. Highlights from the season include traveling to away games and learning new positions and skills that will be useful in the upcoming seasons. We’re excited to see what this team can do in the next few years and they grow and develop.
Volleyball: The Junior High Volleyball team experienced a record-breaking season of success this fall! The ladies completed an undefeated 12-0 overall record and undefeated league season, losing NO games during the entire league campaign. The season was capped off when the Eagles won the Mountain Valley Christian League Playoff Championship with a nail-biting 3-2 win over defending champions, Loma Linda!
Cross Country: The Junior High Cross Country team experienced a great season of growth and development with personal bests being set nearly every week this fall! Highlights included getting to run at the 2-mile Madness and Grant Nunally Invitationals, and of course, Saturday morning runs with Coach Jim. Our Grade 8 runners now get the challenge of moving on and joining Coach Mounday’s HS team, and we wish them great success.
